Emma Dilanyan – Life and Art

Emma Dilanyan was born in Yerevan, into a culturally rich environment with a strong foundation in the arts. Although her parents initially encouraged her toward a musical path during her childhood, her creative impulse found its truest expression in the visual arts. From an early age, Emma displayed a profound curiosity toward painting, which became more intentional at the age of 13, when she began to study the fundamentals of art independently.

Her artistic education began at the Panos Terlemezian College of Fine Arts in Yerevan and continued at the Graphic Design School in Jihlava, Czech Republic. These formative years shaped her aesthetic vision and solidified her technical mastery. Since her student years, Dilanyan has participated in numerous exhibitions, showcasing a body of work that is both distinctive and multifaceted.

Today, Emma continues to pursue her artistic path through active participation in both local and international exhibitions. In addition to her studio practice, she also works as a curator, organizing exhibitions and cultural events for fellow artists, contributing significantly to the development and visibility of contemporary Armenian art.

Her work focuses primarily on landscapes and figurative compositions, where color, form, and spatial relationships are harmonized to explore the subtle dynamics between humans and nature. For Emma, art is a deeply emotional and introspective mode of self-expression—an instrument through which she seeks to reveal the beauty of both the human soul and the natural world. Each artwork aspires to become a dialogue with the viewer, inviting reflection and connection.
